I am in that fun space of not having a plot for my novel. I have a group of characters I would like to play with, however: 36 year old magical triplets. I've been fleshing them out in online roleplay. So far I have really liked the results. It's still twenty-one days before NaNo. If I time things right, I could get a plotline before the month is over. It'll be exciting if I work that out. I normally don't plan out my plots. Normally, though, my stories tend to spiral, going around and around in circles. I have found writing on 750words.com had helped me with taking that circular writing out of my fiction writing and keep it in my non-fiction writing. This might be a problem if/when I decide to write a non-fiction book, but for the time being I have had great success with keeping my fiction from getting so tedious. Over the last few days I have been hit really hard by the Ponds from Doctor Who. I've fallen in love with their characters. It came as a shock to me because I didn't think I liked them all that much. But I do, I really do. I want to write a pair of characters who love each other in a way that the Ponds love each other. So I am not going to be surprised if my NaNo novel gets to be Pond influenced. All in all, though, I think I am plenty pleased.
